"With a career that stretches back to the early 1960s Frankie Armstrong is rightly regarded as one of British Folk Music's most distinctive and respected singers. Encouragement is Armstrong doing what she does best, bringing her considerable interpretive skills to a collection of traditional and contemporary songs......she gets under the skin of her chosen material, brings the songs vividly to life and invites the listener to consider the political subtext which underlies many of them."
